Islamabad: Federal Minister for Power Owais Ahmed Leghari has issued directives to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Sehri and Iftar throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

The Power Division has released standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all electricity distribution companies, including K-Electric. All DISCOs have been instructed to promptly address consumer complaints, and their CEOs have been directed to establish control rooms to monitor the situation.

The Power Division has also ordered strict implementation of anti-electricity theft measures in high-loss areas, stating that the aim is to prevent further increases in outstanding dues and system losses.

Furthermore, the minister has directed that there should be no load-shedding during Sehri and Iftar even in high-loss areas. Load management in such areas will be adjusted to times other than Sehri and Iftar.

He also instructed DISCOs to strictly avoid unannounced load-shedding during Ramadan.
