Apple’s cheapest iPhone of the Year: First look revealed

⏱ 2 minute read

Web Desk: Apple is expected to introduce what could be its most budget-friendly iphone of the year, the iPhone 17e, in February 2026, according to industry reports and emerging leaks.

Sources familiar with the matter suggest the device could be officially announced on Feb. 19, although the company has yet to confirm the date.

Meanwhile, the first purported look at the iPhone 17e has surfaced online, offering clues about the device’s possible design direction. A recently circulated concept video shows a handset featuring Apple’s Dynamic Island interface instead of the traditional notch at the top of the display.

If accurate, the design would mark a shift for the “e” series, aligning it more closely with higher-end models that have adopted the Dynamic Island layout in recent cycles.

In addition, the concept imagery indicates support for MagSafe charging on the rear panel, a feature typically associated with Apple’s premium lineup.

However, earlier leaks painted a different picture. Previous reports suggested that Apple might retain the notch-style display for the iPhone 17e, similar to the design seen on the iPhone 16e, rather than incorporating Dynamic Island technology.

As a result, uncertainty remains over which front-facing camera layout Apple will ultimately choose. Analysts say the final design decision could depend on production costs and the company’s strategy to differentiate entry-level models from flagship offerings.

From a broader design perspective, the iPhone 17e is expected to resemble last year’s iPhone 16 in overall appearance. Nevertheless, reports indicate that Apple may introduce a wider range of color options to attract younger buyers and price-sensitive consumers.

While Apple has not publicly commented on the leaks, anticipation is building ahead of the rumored February launch window. If introduced as expected, the iPhone 17e could reinforce Apple’s push to expand its presence in the mid-range smartphone segment in 2026.
