Colombo: Pakistan cricket team captain Salman Ali Agha said that while the past cannot be changed, they can certainly win by playing good cricket.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup clash against India, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha said it will be known tomorrow whether the two teams will shake hands before the match or not.

He said that Pakistan’s past record against India in World Cups has not been good, but they cannot change the past. However, they can learn from it and perform better to secure a victory.

He clarified that to beat India, the team will have to play good cricket and that a complete plan has been prepared for the entire Indian team.

Talking about Usman Tariq, the captain called him the team’s “trump card” and said his bowling action has been cleared by the ICC, so he does not understand why there is so much discussion about it.

Salman Agha added that Babar Azam is scoring runs, which is reassuring for the team, and expressed hope that he will play a long innings in the next match as well.

He further said that spinners may dominate the match, but fast bowlers will also play an important role. If the overs are reduced due to rain, the team is prepared for that situation as well.

He concluded by saying that captaincy comes with extra responsibility and pressure because all eyes are on you, but the team is well adapted to the conditions and will take the field with the best possible playing XI.
