Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif contacted the head of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Tarique Rahman, by telephone and congratulated him on the historic and remarkable victory in the general elections.


During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recalled the historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh and expressed his commitment that the leadership of both countries would work together to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.


He stated that Pakistan seeks close cooperation with Bangladesh to promote peace, stability, and development in the region, while fully observing the principles of sovereign equality and mutual respect.

The prime minister also extended Tarique Rahman an ivitation for visiting Pakistan soon.
