Web desk: An important development has emerged regarding Pakistan’s participation in the T20 World Cup, as PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi held a detailed meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During the meeting, it was decided that Pakistan will participate in the World Cup. However, the PCB chairman stated that the final decision will be made on Friday or Monday.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s House, where discussions were held on the national team’s participation in the World Cup, Pakistan’s stance, and future strategy. Mohsin Naqvi attended the meeting in his dual capacity as Interior Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The talks also covered the current global cricket situation, decisions taken by the International Cricket Council (ICC), and their possible impact on Pakistan. In particular, the situation that arose after Bangladesh’s exclusion from the ICC World Cup has prompted the PCB to consider various options.
Earlier Bangladesh was been excluded from the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after the International Cricket Council approved Scotland as a replacemet.
The decision follows Bangladesh’s refusal to play its World Cup matches in India due to security concerns, triggering a dispute that escalated into administrative and financial consequences.
