The national hockey players of Pakistan have reportedly stated that their financial situation remains poor. Despite the team returning from a high-profile event FIH Pro League. Many squad members have claimed they are still unpaid and in debt.

Players have not yet received their daily allowances from the Pro League campaign. Their dues from the November tour of Bangladesh have also not been cleared. Some players have reported being forced to borrow money to manage the most basic expenses while representing the country at the highest level.

Pakistan hockey is under scrutiny. Recent Pro League defeats in Santiago, Argentina, against hosts and Olympic champions the Netherlands have drawn heavy criticism. Media, fans, and former players are unhappy.

Inside the camp, the off-field situation worries many. Pakistan’s national sport, once a four-time world champion and three-time Olympic champion, is struggling. The team faces poor results and lacks basic professional standards.

Financial uncertainty adds pressure. A controversy surrounds team manager and former Olympian Anjum Saeed. Reports say Anjum Saeed was removed from a flight for smoking on board. The PHF has not issued any official statement.

There are talks that the PHF may drop him. Upcoming Pro League matches in Hobart, Australia, are scheduled for February 2026. Pakistan will face Australia and world champions Germany.
