Web Desk: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan made startling remarks about Operation Sindoor, claiming that the Indian Air Force faced total defeat on the first day of engagement.

Air Force completely grounded

Chavan said, “On the first day (of Operation Sindoor) we were completely defeated. In the half-hour aerial engagement that took place on the 7th, we were fully defeated, whether people accept it or not. Indian aircraft were shot down. The Air Force was completely grounded, and not a single aircraft flew.”

High risk cited for aircraft

He added that any aircraft attempting to take off from Gwalior, Bathinda or Sirsa faced a high probability of being shot down by Pakistan. “That is why the Air Force was fully grounded,” Chavan explained, emphasizing the severity of the situation during the operation.

Political reaction sparks debate

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and congress leader Chavan’s statements have already ignited political debate, with analysts highlighting the need to examine official records of Operation Sindoor in India. The remarks come amid growing scrutiny of India’s military preparedness and strategic planning in historical operations.
