Senator Faisal Vawda on Thursday hinted at a major press briefing tomorrow, saying it will clarify “what is happening and how things will move forward.” He added that the conference “will not be from the ministers.”

Speaking to ARY News, Vawda congratulated the nation on the appointment of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), saying, “Alhamdulillah, congratulations to the entire country on the CDF’s appointment.”

He warned that the state would respond strongly to recent “filthy statements” circulating against Pakistan. Vawda accused several individuals of spreading harmful narratives, calling them “insects damaging the country,” and said they would soon face consequences.

“Negative, cheap, and abusive politics will be buried,” he said, promising a new phase for Pakistan beginning tomorrow morning. Vawda also referred to political developments, noting that Sohail Afridi had returned “like a good boy” amid a looming disqualification.

Vawda described himself as blunt, saying he does not follow “the language of typical democratic diplomacy.” He reiterated that the era of negativity in politics was ending and that more clarity would emerge after the state briefing.

Addressing critics abroad, he said authorities are taking steps to curb their influence. Vawda added that he had discussed the issue with Mohsin Naqvi in a key meeting today, warning, “We will press the button to control those speaking from abroad.”

In a final note, he urged political actors to adopt a positive approach, saying, “Please talk responsibly. Take ten steps back if needed, but at least create a path forward.” He also expressed hope that while many problems will be resolved, “politics itself doesn’t end up buried in the process.”
