Islamabad: Lieutenant General Fahad bin Saud Al-Johani, Commander of the Royal Saudi Land Forces, met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, as both sides discussed regional security and opportunities to deepen defence cooperation.
Focus on Defence Collaboration
During the talks, the two commanders reviewed issues of mutual interest, including regional stability and avenues to expand bilateral military cooperation. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening what they described as longstanding and brotherly ties between the armed forces of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
COAS Munir voiced satisfaction with the strength of current defence cooperation and urged continued collaboration in training, capacity building and intelligence sharing.
Acknowledgment of Pakistan’s Role
Lieutenant General Al-Johani praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Army and commended Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Ceremonial Welcome
Upon his arrival at GHQ, the Saudi commander received a Guard of Honour before beginning official discussions. Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff asserted strong military to military cooperation between Saudia Arabia and Pakistan.
