Iqrar ul Hassan takes a ‘u-turn’ on his financial status

KARACHI: Renowned Pakistani journalist and host Iqrar ul Hassan, widely recognized for his investigative reporting and the popular ARY News program Sar-e-Aam, has taken a ‘u-turn’ regarding his financial status and revealed his assets. Iqrar’s personal life has often attracted attention, particularly because he has been married three times. Beyond this, he frequently discusses his financial situation, presenting himself as an ordinary, middle-class individual.

Recently, Iqrar ul Hassan appeared to revise his previous claims about his finances. Speaking about his properties, he openly acknowledged his assets.

Speaking in a podcast as a guest, Iqrar stated that Allah has blessed him with everything financially that anyone could hope for, all through legitimate means. “I have a house under construction, with only the finishing touches left. In Lahore, I own a 2-kanal house in DHA Phase 8 that is almost complete. In Karachi, we were living in a rented place. I hadn’t shared this before, but I also own a one-kanal plot purely for investment. We have a car on rent; people sometimes criticize the cost, but I was investing in my house construction at the time, so it made sense,” he said.

He added, “My wives are naturally very understanding, Alhamdulillah. None of them focus on material matters or compare themselves with others. It’s just not part of our lifestyle, and things have naturally stayed this way.”

Past Statements:

Previously, Iqrar ul Hassan had shared that he has mostly lived in rented homes. He said, “I haven’t purchased my own house and have relied on rental accommodations since the start of my career. For someone like me, coming from a middle-class background, owning a house has always been a dream.” He said that various challenges especially the recent surge in prices, delayed construction. “But, Insha’Allah, we will be moving soon. Qurat, Pehlaj, and Aroosa will join us, and Farah will also live nearby.”
