First Lady Asifa Bhutto visits General Women’s Union in Abu Dhabi, holds important meetings

First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari visited the General Women’s Union in Abu Dhabi where they held important meetings.

During their visit, First Lady Asifa Bhutto Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari met with DG General Women’s Union Noora Khalifa Al Suwaidi and Chairperson of Strategic Affairs and Development Ms. Ghalia Ali Al-Mannai.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari praised the union’s efforts to empower Emirati women. The First Lady appreciated the progress made in women’s inclusion at both government and international levels, and also commended the General Women’s Union’s Productive Families Employment Program.

During her visit, Asifa Bhutto Zardari paid tribute to Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s visionary leadership for the advancement of women.

Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while addressing the National Assembly, said, “I strongly condemn the terrorist attacks from Islamabad to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.” He said that unity is needed in the war against terrorism, putting aside ideological differences.

Bilawal Bhutto said that Pakistan has achieved successes against terrorists that even the combined forces of NATO could not achieve in Afghanistan. “We have defeated terrorists before, and we will do so again,” he said in a resolute tone.

Constitutional Amendments and National Consensus

Bilawal Bhutto, while expressing his views on the 27th Constitutional Amendment, said that the government has made unanimous constitutional amendments in the past as well. “During the 26th Amendment, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman voted with the permission of the PTI, similarly today we are bringing the 27th Amendment unanimously.”

He said, “We are going to give constitutional protection to the post of Field Marshal and amendments related to defense institutions are also included.” Bilawal Bhutto said that the provinces will get equal representation in the Constitutional Court and “after the 27th Amendment, there will be no hundred moto, this will be a historic achievement.”
