ISLAMABAD: Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has, for the first time, openly admitted that raising a child across borders is an extremely challenging responsibility.
Following her separation from Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, Sania has been shouldering the primary responsibility of raising their son, Izhaan. She revealed that being a single parent is not only emotionally demanding but also difficult to manage alongside a busy professional schedule.
Sania said that single parenting is particularly tough because multiple responsibilities have to be juggled simultaneously. She admitted that leaving her son behind while heading to work often leaves her feeling emotionally drained, and sometimes, to avoid the sense of loneliness, she even skips meals to avoid sitting alone at the table.
She acknowledged that balancing parental duties with professional commitments is the biggest challenge, especially when a child spends time with parents on both sides of a border.
Sania Mirza’s candid remarks resonate with many single parents who strive to manage their careers while fulfilling their responsibilities toward their children.
