Pixar has dropped the first teaser for Toy Story 5, which is scheduled to hit cinemas on June 19, 2026.
It’s hard to believe that Woody and Buzz Lightyear’s journey began three decades ago, back in November 1995. Over the years, they’ve faced countless adventures but this time, they’re up against something entirely new: a child’s tablet. The question is, how will these beloved toys cope with the age of screen time?
The short teaser introduces audiences to a new tech-based character named Lilypad, a tablet voiced by Tron: Ares star Greta Lee. Although the story details remain mostly under wraps, it’s evident that Woody, Buzz, and their friends will find themselves competing with modern gadgets for Bonnie’s attention.
Returning to voice their iconic roles are Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz, alongside Joan Cusack as Jessie and Tony Hale as Forky. Conan O’Brien also joins the cast, lending his voice to a new character named Smarty Pants, a humorously designed, tech-savvy potty-training toy.
Director Andrew Stanton and co-director Kenna Harris said in a joint statement, “It’s been both funny and deeply moving to imagine how our classic toy crew would navigate today’s tech-driven world. Seeing Greta Lee bring Lilypad to life, with the perfect mix of wit, warmth, and just a hint of mischief, has been an absolute joy.”
