ISLAMABAD: All the terrorists involved in the attack on Cadet College Wana were Afghan citizens, according to security sources.
Security sources said that the attack was planned in Afghanistan and the final execution order was issued by foreign militant Noor Wali Mehsud.
Security sources further revealed that throughout the assault, the attackers were following instructions being relayed to them from Afghanistan. The operation was planned by a militant identified as Zahid, while the responsibility for the attack was claimed under the name “Jaish-ul-Hind” on the directions of Noor Wali Mehsud.
Sources further added that Mehsud deliberately used the name “Jaish-ul-Hind” to distance the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) “Fitna al-Khawarij” from direct responsibility. The video recorded during the assault repeatedly mentioned “Jaish-ul-Hind” to conceal the attackers’ true affiliation.
Security officials stated that the Afghan Taliban have long pressured the TTP not to reveal their original identity, as it brings diplomatic strain upon them from Pakistan and its allied countries. Audio intercepts also confirmed that the attackers were speaking in Urdu and repeatedly invoking the name “Jaish-ul-Hind” to disguise their real identities.

All weapons and equipment used in the attack were supplied from Afghanistan, including American-made arms, the sources disclosed. The primary objective behind the assault was to create insecurity within Pakistan, allegedly as part of demands made by India’s intelligence agency, RAW.
Security sources said the identification of the slain Afghan terrorists has eliminated all remaining doubts regarding their origins. They reaffirmed that under the National Action Plan and Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, counterterrorism operations will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
