Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, responding to the statement of Afghan Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, said that this is Afghanistan’s own internal matter.
Khawaja Asif said that they will go wherever they find a cheap route, this should be a relief for us.
The Defense Minister said that the amount of goods booked for Afghanistan from Karachi Port comes to all of Pakistan. If the Afghans want to order goods from Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan or India, they should definitely order them. By the grace of God, we have not suffered any economic loss in this.
Khawaja Asif said that it is possible to eliminate terrorism in Pakistan. If Afghanistan decides to do so, their traffic to and from Pakistan will decrease.
According to the Defense Minister, if there is less traffic, the terrorism that spreads in Pakistan, whether in the form of trade or in any other way, will decrease and border management will also improve for Pakistan.
Khawaja Asif said that this is a blessing in disguise that they are looking for other ways. If Afghanistan makes such a decision, it will only benefit Pakistan, there will be no harm.
It should be noted that Afghanistan’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, has told Afghan traders that they should end their dependence on Pakistan for trade and adopt alternative routes.
According to Afghan media, Mullah Baradar said that “all Afghan traders and industrialists should turn to other trade routes instead of Pakistan.”
“I urge all traders to implement alternative options for imports and exports as soon as possible,” he added.
He warned that if any trader continues to trade with Pakistan after this directive, the government will not cooperate with him or listen to him.
