Rawalpindi: The second One Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, scheduled for tomorrow, is facing possible rescheduling after reports emerged that several Sri Lankan players are reluctant to continue the tour.
According to team officials, some Sri Lankan cricketers have expressed a desire to return home, raising questions about the immediate future of the bilateral series. The Sri Lankan team manager confirmed that players were hesitant to proceed with the remaining matches due to unspecified concerns.
PCB Chairman Meets Sri Lankan Team
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is expected to meet the Sri Lankan squad in Lahore in an attempt to address their concerns and reassure them of safety. Naqvi personally assured the players and management of “full security arrangements” during their stay in Pakistan.
“The players’ safety is our top priority,” a PCB spokesperson said. “The board is working closely with Sri Lanka Cricket to ensure all arrangements meet international standards.” Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi says that the Sri Lankan team will stay in Pakistan until the completion of series.
Tri Series between Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe
A tri series in Pakistan is also scheduled to take place between the teams of Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. This series is also to be played in Pakistan.
Sri Lankan Board Announcement
The Sri Lankan Cricket board has directed the players to complete the ongoing tour of Pakistan. Any player abandoning the tour will face a two year ban. In an official statement the Sri Lankan cricket board said that for any player who leaves the tour, an alternate player would be sent.

The second ODI was originally scheduled to take place tomorrow as part of the three-match series. However, with growing uncertainty, officials from both sides are reportedly considering alternative dates or venues.
