Gold prices surge sharply in global and local markets

KARACHI: A significant rise was recorded in both international and domestic gold prices today.

In the international bullion market, the price of gold jumped by 37 dollars per ounce, reaching a new high of 4,007 dollars.

The global surge had a direct impact on local markets, where the price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs3,700 per tola, bringing the new rate to Rs423,062 per tola.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs3,122, hitting an all-time high of Rs362,707.

Silver prices also witnessed an increase, with per tola silver rising by Rs90 to Rs5,112, while the price of 10 grams of silver climbed by Rs77, reaching Rs4,382, marking a new record level.
