RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), held meetings with top civil and military leadership during his official visit to Brunei Darussalam, according to ISPR.
General Mirza had an audience with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. He also met with Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence-II, and Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
During his visit, the CJCSC toured KDB Darulaman at Muara Naval Base and the Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. He delivered a lecture on “Pakistan’s Contributions to Regional Peace and Stability” and interacted with students of the Command and Staff Course, including officers from 19 foreign countries.
Both sides discussed the evolving global and regional security environment and expressed their resolve to enhance military cooperation. General Mirza reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its defence partnership with Brunei.
The Sultan and Bruneian leadership lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Upon his arrival at the Headquarters of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, General Mirza was presented with a Guard of Honour by a well-turned-out military contingent.
