KALAT: Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Kalat district of Balochistan on the night of November 1, 2025, following reports of the presence of Fitna al Hindustan militants.
According to ISPR, troops effectively targeted the militants’ hideout, killing four Indian-sponsored terrorists during the exchange of fire. A cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the site.
The slain militants were reportedly involved in multiple acts of terrorism across the region.
Meanwhile, sanitization operations are underway to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining foreign-backed elements. Security forces and law enforcement agencies reaffirmed their commitment to continue the counterterrorism campaign under “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, to eradicate the threat of foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
The development comes a day after the ISPR said at least three terrorists killed in two separate encounters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Pakistan has witnessed a sharp rise in militant attacks in recent months, particularly in KP and Balochistan. These assaults have primarily targeted police, law enforcement agencies, and military personnel.
The resurgence in violence began after the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) unilaterally ended its ceasefire agreement with the government in 2022, leading to a renewed cycle of bloodshed and instability across the country.
It is pertinent to mention that delegations of Pakistan and Afghan Taliban are scheduled to meet on Novemeber 6 in Turkiye for the third round of talks following ceasefire agreement in Doha, Qatar amid deadly skirmishes on border.
Pakistan has been consistent in its view that Afghan soil is being used against Pakistan and that the Afghan Taliban must stop sheltering anti-Pakistan groups. Qatar and Turkiye, the mediatiors of the ceasefire agreement, have already acknowledged Pakistan’s just and legitimate demands.
Despite the fact that Afghan Taliban continued to sabotage the second round of talks in Istanbul, Pakistan had accepted the request of mediators to continue the negotiations. Analysts believe that this act on part of Pakistan is enough to suggest that the country seek regional peace.
Earlier a day ago, Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry told senior journalists that Afghan Taliban were clearly conveyed in Istanbul that they need to control terrorism. “How they do it is their job,” said DG ISPR, adding that the the security forces conducted a counter-terrorism operation and the terrorists fled to Afghanistan.
He had further said that there will be no talks with terrorists, adding, “Pakistan gave the Afghan Taliban a befitting response, which yielded the results we wanted”.
