NLC expands international shipping links with China, Malaysia

KARACHI: The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has successfully expanded its international shipping network by launching a new maritime corridor that connects Pakistan with China and Southeast Asia.

The first cargo ship under this new route arrived at Karachi Port from China and Malaysia, marking the operational start of the service. A formal inauguration ceremony was held at Karachi Port, attended by representatives from NLC, Karachi Port Trust (KPT), and leading business figures.

The new vessel will operate between Port Klang, Qingdao, Ningbo, Jebel Ali, and Karachi, providing a vital trade link between these regions. For the first time in Pakistan, NLC has introduced a ship with a capacity of 2,500 TEUs.

The expansion of this maritime service is expected to strengthen trade with Southeast Asia and the Middle East while improving logistics efficiency. Importers and exporters are likely to benefit significantly from NLC’s reliable shipping operations.

This service will not only ensure a regular schedule but also facilitate ease in cargo space availability and payment processes. As Pakistan’s national flag carrier, NLC will offer fast shipping from Karachi to Qingdao with a travel duration of just 18 days.

With competitive rates and strong regional connectivity, the initiative is anticipated to boost regional trade and open new commercial opportunities.
