AJK: Pakistan Army troops successfully repelled an attempted cross-border infiltration by Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Leepa Valley sector late on the night of October 26, inflicting heavy losses on the attackers, according to security sources.

The exchange of fire reportedly lasted for more than three hours after Indian troops from the 20 Rajput Regiment of the 17 Brigade attempted to breach the LoC. Pakistan’s prompt and targeted response resulted in the deaths of at least eight Indian soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), while 14 others were injured.

Sources said several Indian posts including Kumar Top, Gora Naka, Pimple 1, and Pimple 2 were completely destroyed during the engagement. Following intense retaliation, Indian forces reportedly raised white flags, after which Pakistani troops ceased fire in accordance with military protocol.

The situation in the Leepa Valley has since returned to normal, though security along the LoC remains on high alert.

No casualties were reported on the Pakistani side.

The Pakistan Army stated that it remains fully prepared to respond decisively to any provocation or violation of the ceasefire understanding along the LoC.
