Web Desk: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) of Pakistan, met with General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army, at the Army Headquarters in Dhaka during an official visit to Bangladesh.
In addition to exchanging mutual greetings, they discussed about strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of defence and security. They also exchanged views on the prospects of enhancing military cooperation through joint training programs, seminars and visits.
The two military leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of defence cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh and agreed to sustain regular exchange visits at various levels of military leadership.
In discussions, both sides emphasized the significance of strengthening bilateral ties amidst a dynamic global and regional security environment. Key topics included joint training programs, collaborative exercises, and sharing operational expertise, particularly in counter-terrorism efforts.
Both sides also recognized and addressed the emerging challenges posed by disruptive disinformation campaigns across multiple platforms as a mutual concern.. Both generals reaffirmed the importance of enhanced cooperation to effectively counter these threats.
The visit underscores the commitment of Pakistan and Bangladesh to bolster defence relations and work together to ensure regional stability and security.
