Pakistan ensures dignified repatriation of Afghan refugees

ISLAMABAD: Under a transparent system established by the Pakistan Army and the government, the dignified and safe repatriation of Afghan refugees is underway.

At the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Chaman, the return of Afghan nationals continues in an organized and respectful manner. Over the past four decades, Pakistan has provided shelter, employment, and protection to millions of Afghan brothers and sisters. The country’s exemplary hospitality stands as a clear testament to humanitarian compassion in global history.

The repatriation process is being carried out with full respect and in accordance with legal procedures. According to official figures, 1,514,384 Afghan refugees have so far returned to their homeland. Each day, around three to four thousand individuals are facilitated in their return.

A transparent verification system has been set up for document checks, ensuring that only those with verified papers are allowed to cross the border. The Frontier Corps Balochistan (North) and the civil administration have arranged accommodation and meals for the refugees at the Chaman border.

Pakistan has now made it mandatory for all entries to be made only through valid passports and visas. Entry will be permitted solely for trade or visit purposes. This initiative reflects Pakistan’s commitment to national security, rule of law, and the strengthening of mutual respect in Pakistan-Afghanistan relations.
