ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the reopening of gas connections for domestic consumers nationwide.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of RLNG gas connections in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said that providing gas connections to households was an important public demand.
Shehbaz Sharif stated that the government has decided to open gas connections for domestic users nationwide. He recalled that during the PDM government in 2022, ensuring gas supply had been a major challenge. At that time, people had strongly demanded the resumption of new gas connections, but due to unavailability of gas, the government had to apologize to the public.
The Prime Minister further revealed that hundreds of thousands of applications for new gas connections have already been received. He added that with the reopening of gas connections today, the long-standing public demand has finally been met.
Shehbaz Sharif also mentioned that in 2013, the duration of load-shedding had exceeded 20 hours, but the PML-N government took special measures to eliminate power outages. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to work tirelessly to put the country back on the path of progress and development.
