Pakistan, Romania Vow to Strengthen Defence Ties During Air Chief’s Visit

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, met with Romanian defence officials during his official visit to Romania, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing military cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during a joint meeting with Mr. Eduard Bachide, State Secretary of Defence, and General Gheorgiță Vlad, Chief of Defence of Romania, both sides discussed ways to deepen military-to-military collaboration.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu highlighted Pakistan’s appreciation for its longstanding diplomatic and defence ties with Romania, noting that the relationship is built on shared interests in regional peace and security. He reaffirmed the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation through new avenues of collaboration and operational synergy.

Mr. Eduard Bachide commended the Pakistan Air Force for its exceptional combat performance and operational excellence, expressing Romania’s interest in learning from PAF’s extensive experience. General Gheorgiță Vlad also praised the professionalism and capabilities of PAF and emphasized Romania’s desire to enhance cooperation through joint exercises, training programs, and professional exchanges.

The visit of the Air Chief to Romania marks a significant milestone in strengthening defence relations between the two nations and reflects their shared resolve to address emerging regional and global security challenges through sustained partnership and collaboration.
