ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police on Monday arrested two men in connection with an alleged gang rape of a woman inside a luxury apartment at Centaurus Mall’s Tower A.
The woman, whose identity has been withheld for privacy reasons, contacted emergency services via the 15 police helpline, reporting that she had been sexually assaulted by two men in Apartment No. 606, Tower A of the Centaurus complex.
Responding promptly, a police team from the Margalla Police Station, led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Khalid and Station House Officer Saleem Raza, arrived at the scene and arrested the suspects, identified as Faisal Jalal and Hafeezullah.
According to police, the woman was invited to the apartment by the two men. Upon arrival, she was allegedly assaulted and the incident was reportedly recorded on video by the suspects.
The victim was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a medical examination. Initial medical findings confirm signs consistent with sexual assault, according to the SHO.
The accused have been transferred to Margalla Police Station for further investigation. Police say the woman is married, and the case is being pursued as a serious criminal offense under Pakistan’s penal code.
“An FIR has been registered and a full investigation is underway. No one will be spared if found guilty,” a police spokesperson told media.
The incident has raised fresh concerns about women’s safety in private residential and commercial complexes in the capital city. Authorities have assured that all necessary forensic and digital evidence will be collected as part of the probe.
