Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, interacted with participants of the 17th National Workshop of Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ), reaffirming Pakistan Army’s commitment to peace, stability, and socio-economic development in the province.

During the session, the COAS described Balochistan as the “pride of Pakistan,” commending the province’s resilient, vibrant and patriotic population as its greatest asset. He underscored the ongoing development efforts led by both Federal and Provincial governments to uplift the socio-economic landscape of Balochistan through inclusive and people-centric initiatives.

Highlighting the province’s vast economic potential, the Army Chief stressed the importance of channeling this potential toward sustainable growth and prosperity for the people of Balochistan.

Acknowledging the vital role of civil society especially in youth empowerment, the COAS emphasised the need for constructive engagement to counter political narratives. He stated that long-term development requires cohesive efforts by all stakeholders, guided by national interest.

On the security front, the COAS warned of Indian-sponsored proxies, specifically Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khawarij, which he said engaged in spreading anti-state and anti-development propaganda aimed at destabilising the region. He reiterated the military’s firm resolve to eliminate terrorism and restore peace, stating that all necessary measures are being taken to neutralise such threats.

Field Marshal Munir further affirmed that while Pakistan desires regional peace, any violation of its territorial integrity either direct or indirect, would be met with a strong and decisive response to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens.

The session concluded with a candid interactive question-and-answer segment, allowing participants to engage directly with the Army Chief on key issues concerning the province.
