RAWALPINDI: The launch of electric buses in Rawalpindi is expected soon, marking another groundbreaking initiative by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The project aims to provide citizens with improved transport facilities while creating new employment opportunities.

According to a special report by Azad Digital, the government’s decision to introduce electric buses in Rawalpindi is a highly commendable step, offering significant relief to the public. Traffic congestion has long been a source of frustration for residents, and this initiative is expected to bring much-needed ease.

One of the most notable aspects of the project is the provision of safe and dignified travel for women and differently-abled individuals. So far, around 350 people have been employed under the scheme, and as the project expands, more job opportunities are expected to follow.

The report adds that today marks the fourth day of driver testing, with senior officers from Rawalpindi Traffic Police supervising the process. Officials say that around 70 percent of the project has been completed, and the official inauguration is expected very soon.
