The Afghan leadership has shown the heart of the Muslim Ummah by betraying the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people, President Asif Ali Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly criticized the Afghan leadership's stance on Kashmir, saying that ’the Afghan leadership has done injustice to both history and the Ummah by turning away from the freedom struggle of the people of occupied Kashmir. Calls on the Afghan leadership to take practical steps to eradicate anti-Pakistan terrorist groups from its soil. President Asif Ali Zardari, while reacting to the aggression of Afghan forces against Pakistan, has said that ’speaking on the current security challenges, Fateh-ul-Khwarij and Fateh-ul-Hindustan are the biggest threats to the peace and stability of the region. He stressed that the fight against terrorism is a shared responsibility, its burden cannot be passed on to any one country. The President said that it is expected that the Afghan government will prevent its territory from being used by Fateh-ul-Khwarizar and Fateh-ul-Hindustan, ’stating that Pakistani citizens and security personnel are being targeted by the nexus of these terrorist groups and Pakistan has made this alliance clear to the world. President Zardari said that the attacks of Fatah al-Khwaraj from Afghan soil are a proven fact from the reports of the United Nations. He urged the Afghan leadership to take serious steps to eliminate these elements. He recalled that Pakistan hosted Afghan refugees for four decades, a shining example of Islamic brotherhood and good neighbourliness. He said that restoration of peace and dignified return of Afghan citizens is in the interest of both countries. ’Pakistan will not compromise on its national sovereignty'. The President said Pakistan cherishes a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan. ’Fraternal relations are linked to mutual respect, security cooperation and peace in the region,‘ and that joint and practical measures against terrorism are the guarantee of lasting peace. Speaking on the Kashmir issue, President Zardari said Pakistan is committed to protecting its national interests, regional sovereignty and security. ’Pakistan will never recognise any controversial or misleading position on Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.' He termed India's unlawful claim as contrary to international laws and UN resolutions and criticised the Afghan leadership for having done injustice to both history and the Ummah by turning away from the freedom struggle of the people of Occupied Kashmir.
