NADRA has digitized the entire system of obtaining other important documents including identity cards through its innovative Pak ID mobile application, leaving citizens with no need to make rounds of NADRA offices. According to spokesperson Nadra Syed Shabahat Ali, Pak ID mobile app has radically changed the way identity services are used for the public. Citizens can now apply for their ID card, Family Registration Certificate (FRC), and other documents at home. He informed that in just three months, more than 12 lakh applications were received through Pak ID app, while more than one crore citizens have downloaded this app so far. This app has become one of the most trusted public services in the country. According to Syed Shabahat Ali, citizens can carry out biometric authentication, upload documents and live application tracking through their smartphone. On average, more than 10,000 cases are being handled daily through the app, which has significantly increased public convenience. The spokesperson added that NADRA has seen a 45% increase in digital applications thanks to the Pak ID app, which is proof that the public is increasingly shifting to digital identity systems. This new digital facility of NADRA is taking Pakistan a significant step forward towards e-governance through innovative technology.
