The Pakistan Peoples Party again walked out of the National Assembly session and announced that it would not agree to any reconciliation until the Punjab government moderated its statements. The National Assembly session started under the chairmanship of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. During the interval questions, PPP member Raja Pervaiz Ashraf sought time for the point of objection. The Speaker stated that the point of order could not be raised during the interval questions but at the insistence of the members, Pervez Ashraf was allowed to speak on the floor. Pervez Ashraf said that while it is not appropriate to speak during the interval questions, there is an important issue that is affecting the public at the moment. He clarified that the PPP supports the federation and its alliance with the government is for the betterment of the country. Pervez Ashraf said that the PPP believes in strengthening the country and the provinces and has no intention of weakening the federation. Pervez Ashraf added that even on the issue of Kashmir, he became part of the delegation and during this time irresponsible statements not only upset the party workers but also created discontent across the country. He stressed that unless there is an assurance from the Punjab Government, the PPP will be unable to sit in the Assembly and the walkout will continue.
