Web desk: The Chief of Defence Forces Malaysia, General Tan Sri Hj Mohd Nizam bin Hj Jaffar, met Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Both sides discussed the global and regional security situation. They stressed the need to explore new areas of cooperation in defence and security.
The two military leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening military-to-military ties in view of the changing regional dynamics.
General Nizam praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
As per the statement issued by ISPR, “Both sides held comprehensive discussions on the evolving global and regional security environment and underscored the importance of exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation in defence and security domains.”
The statement firther added, “Both military leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the military-to-military relationship in the light of evolving regional security dynamics.”
He acknowledged their achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and their efforts for regional peace and stability.
On arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, a “smartly turned-out tri-services contingent” presented a Guard of Honour to the visiting dignitary.
