Free Health Card Punjab

LAHORE: Government has shared latest update regarding the eligibility and other details of the Health Card, which can be used for free treatment at public and private hospitals.

The Punjab Health Initiative Management Company warned people that “Don’t put your ears on rumours,”.

The Punjab government said that it has not discontinued the free health card in province. The health card facilities are available across the province without interruption. The patients can get treatment at any selected private hospital.

CNIC Health Card

The Punjab Health Initiative Management Company stated that the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) will now work as the free health card.

However, people have to ensure that they carry out correct registration of their family members in NADRA record in order to receive the free services of the health card.

Eligibility

People can check the eligibility for the health card through a simple process. They just need to send their CNIC number to 8500 via SMS. Shortly after sending the message, they will get reply about the eligibility.

The Punjab Health Initiative Management Company has also launched a helpline that provide services from 8:00am to 11:00 pm to facilitate public in case they face any problem at hospitals.

In a separate development, the Punjab government has prepared a plan to construct 57,000 affordable and quality homes across the province, the spokesperson for the Housing Department said.

These homes will be built in 21 districts of the province under the supervision of the Punjab Housing Department. The grounds used will be government land.

In the first phase of the scheme, 20,000 homes will be constructed across the 41 selected sites.

The houses will be made available to eligible people on easy instalments. The project is expected to be completed within five years.

The spokesperson added that the project will be implemented in partnership with the World Bank and the private sector.

Residents will have access to all necessary facilities, and quality checks, along with regular monitoring of construction work, will be ensured throughout the project.
