WASHINGTON: Amid US trade war with India, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is likely to hold a meeting with United States President Donald Trump on September 25, Geo News reported citing sources.

According to sources, the meeting, will be held on UN General Assembly sidelines, in addition Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir will also attend the meeting.

The meeting taking place with the consultation, support, and endorsement of Qatar and Saudi Arabia will, according to sources, have a wide-ranging agenda from floods in Pakistan to the repercussions of the Israeli attack on Qatar.

Earlier, during his historic visit to the United States, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met US President Donald Trump. President Trump expressed historic words of praise for Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and appreciated his capabilities.

President Trump declared his meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir an honour for himself.

The Washington Post described Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit to the US as “a symbol of a new dimension in Pakistan-US relations.”

The Financial Times credited Field Marshal Asim Munir’s strategic planning and decisive measures as the reason for Pakistan’s recognition in the United States.

According to The Financial Times, America views Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as a strategic mediator in the region. At the retirement ceremony of General Michael Kurilla in the US, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir received a warm welcome, Financial Times reported.

As India continue to face isolation globally, a retired US brigadier general Mark Kimmitt said that India’s arrogance pushed Trump closer to Pakistan.

During his interview with Piers Morgan, the retired US general said that President Donald Trump has established a cordial relationship with Field Marshal Asim Munir, a development he said should concern New Delhi.

“India’s arrogance that’s been displayed to President Trump manifests itself in the fact that we are now becoming much closer to Pakistan,” he said.

As the world recognizes Field Marshal Asim Munir leadership skills, the former US general also lauded him saying “Field Marshal Munir has now a bromance with President Trump that should actually give India some pause.”
