Web desk: Popular YouTuber Saadur Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai, has been sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand by a Lahore court in a case tied to the alleged promotion of gambling and betting apps.

Lahore Court rejects NCCIA plea, sends YouTuber Ducky Bhai to jail

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had earlier arrested him at Lahore airport last month.

On Monday, officials presented him before the court and requested more time for physical remand to continue their investigation. The plea was turned down, and the judge ordered that the YouTuber be sent to jail for two weeks instead.

Ducky Bhai’s previous remands, case background

Over the past weeks, his remand had already been extended several times.

On September 3, a Lahore magistrate granted a two-day extension, while just days earlier the court had given a further three days.

His first physical remand was approved from August 28 to September 1.

The case itself was lodged on the night of August 17 by the state through the NCCIA.

YouTuber Ducky Bhai accused of promoting online gambling apps

The First Information Report mentions several sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, including 13, 14, 25 and 26, along with sections 294-B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Investigators claim that Ducky Bhai used his YouTube channel to promote betting platforms such as Binomo and 1xBet.

This is not the first time he has faced legal action. Only a few months ago, motorway police registered a case against him for performing dangerous driving stunts.

Despite the controversies, he remains one of the country’s most prominent digital creators.
