Islamabad: The Islamabad schools will adopt revised winter timings from December 1, authorities announced, aiming to accommodate colder weather and ensure students’ safety and comfort.
Single-Shift Schools to Open Later
Under the new schedule, single-shift schools will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on regular weekdays. On Fridays, these schools will close earlier, at 1:15 p.m., to align with winter daylight hours.
Double-Shift Schools Adjust Evening Timings
Meanwhile, double-shift schools will modify their evening sessions, running from 1:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The morning shifts for Islamabad schools remain would open half an hour later to normal school timing.
Implementation Period
Education authorities have directed all schools to implement the revised timings starting December 1. The winter schedule will remain in effect until January 31, 2026, after which regular school hours will resume.
Officials said the adjustments aim to balance academic schedules with seasonal changes while maintaining students’ well-being and attendance.
