Web desk: The United States Embassy Islamabad has announced the cancellation of all visa appointments scheduled between March 9 and March 13. The decision affects both immigrant and nonimmigrant visa applicants who had appointments at the embassy in Islamabad.
According to the official statement, the embassy will continue to provide routine and emergency services to United States citizens during this period. However, visa services for applicants will remain temporarily halted.
Officials confirmed that all affected applicants will receive instructions by email on how to reschedule their appointments. Therefore, applicants are advised to regularly check their email and follow guidance provided by the embassy.
Meanwhile, all consular services at the U.S. Consulate General Karachi and the U.S. Consulate General Lahore remain suspended. Authorities have not yet announced a timeline for the resumption of services at these locations.
The suspension has created uncertainty for many visa applicants across Pakistan, particularly those planning travel, study, or immigration to the United States. For now, applicants must wait for further updates from the U.S. diplomatic mission regarding the restoration of normal visa operations.
