Afghanistan thrashed United Arab Emirates (UAE) by four runs in their T20 tri-series match in Sharjah to reach final of the tournament.
Pakistan and Afghanistan will now face each other in the final on September 7 (tomorrow). Pakistan entered the final after beating the UAE twice and Afghanistan once.
They set a target of 171 for the UAE today, with the latter side managing 166.
Afghan skipper Rashid Khan won the toss earlier and decided to bat first.
It is pertinent to mention here that the green team lost to Afghanistan by 18 runs in the Sharjah T20I Tri-Series.
In the fourth match of the tri-series, Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by 18 runs.
In the match played in Sharjah, Afghanistan batted first and scored 167 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted overs, setting Pakistan a target of 170 runs to win.
However, the Pakistan cricket team managed only 151 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs.
Ibrahim Zadran scored 65 runs and Sediqullah Atal made 64, standing out for Afghanistan.
Fahim Ashraf produced career-best bowling figures, taking 4 wickets, while Saeem Ayub took 1 wicket for 18 runs.
Earlier, Rashid Khan, after winning the toss, invited Salman Ali Agha’s eleven to bowl first.
