Web desk: Pakistani security forces killed two militants during a gunfight near Jusak Cross in the Makran Range area of Kech district Balochistan. The encounter followed intelligence linked to a previous abduction case.
According to security sources authorities received information about suspicious movement involving a woman named Nargis from Balicha Tehsil Tump. She was traveling in a silver Corolla. Intelligence reports suggested that armed militants were accompanying her. As a result security forces set up several checkpoints and began snap checks across the area.
Later at around 6:55 pm personnel from 168 Wing spotted the silver car trying to avoid a checkpoint near the Jusak border area. Immediately they shared the information with a nearby Quick Reaction Force unit patrolling close to Singhanisar.
Soon after the QRF chased the vehicle. When the car reached near Jusak Cross the militants inside opened fire on the pursuing forces. In response the QRF returned fire. As a result both militants were killed on the spot.
Officials identified one of the slain militants as Salim. He had remained wanted for the past two years. Moreover authorities linked him to several militant activities in the region. Meanwhile officials are still confirming the identity of the second militant. Severe head injuries have delayed the identification process.
Following the encounter security forces cordoned off the entire area. This step ensured safety and prevented any possible escape. Importantly officials reported no casualties or damage to security personnel or equipment.
Meanwhile teams are clearing the vehicle. They have also documented images of the deceased militants. In addition forces recovered weapons ammunition and equipment from the scene. Security officials said the operation followed standard procedures and relied on timely intelligence.
Finally authorities said the situation remains under control. Investigations are ongoing. They added that security operations will continue in Kech district to curb militant activity and counter abduction-related threats across the Makran division.
