Traffic Disrupted at Adiala Road after KPK CM Stages Sit-In

Sohail Afridi stages Sit in Outside Adiala Jail

Rawalpindi: Long traffic queues formed at Adiala Road and the traffic was highly disrupted after the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Sohail Afridi staged a sit-in outside Adiala Jail on Thursday.

While talking to journalists the KP CM said that he is not being allowed to meet PTI Founder Imran Khan and he would sit at Adiala Road until he is allowed to meet Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail.

He talked about the current security situation in KPK and said that the federal government was not serious in tackling the issue. He reiterated that funds meant for the development and prosperity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people are not being released by the Federal Government.

When asked about why he did not attend the high level security meeting, he said ‘no such meeting has been called’.

On answering about the delay in the formation of KPK Cabinet the Chief Minister remarked that after consultations with Imran Khan he would make the cabinet.

The Chief Minister also said that the federal government was giving second-hand cars not the ones they are using themselves, Federal Government should disperse the funds as per the share of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. He said ” Efforts are underway to strengthen the KPK Security Forces and a fund of Rs seven billion was also announced.
