Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, paid a farewell visit to Naval Headquarters in Islamabad on Thursday, marking one of his final engagements before concluding his tenure.
General Mirza Meets Naval Chief
During the visit, General Mirza met Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf. Officials said the CJCSC praised the Pakistan Navy’s combat readiness and lauded its commitment to safeguarding the country’s maritime frontiers.
Admiral Ashraf, in turn, thanked General Mirza for what he described as a pivotal role in strengthening cooperation and operational alignment among the three armed services.
Guard of Honour Marks Departure
Earlier, a ceremonial guard of honour welcomed the CJCSC on his arrival at Naval Headquarters. Military officials said the gesture underscored the services’ acknowledgment of General Mirza’s contributions to joint defence planning and inter-service coordination.
