Afghan drones destroyed

The Afghan Taliban government sent four rudimentary drones across the border into Balochistan on June 30, all of which were promptly detected and destroyed by Pakistan’s effective air defence system.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Afghan Taliban government launched the four drones from territory under its control as part of its continued patronage and support of terrorist organisations operating against Pakistan. However, Pakistan’s robust air defence system immediately detected all four aerial platforms.

The ISPR said the security forces demonstrated a high level of operational preparedness and successfully destroyed all four drones using advanced defensive capabilities, foiling their malicious intentions.

In its statement, the ISPR said such actions by the Afghan Taliban government were an attempt to divert the attention of its own people from internal problems and its oppressive style of governance. It added that the Afghan Taliban should realise that its irresponsible conduct is only worsening the hardships faced by the Afghan people.

The military spokesperson said the Afghan Taliban must abandon its support for terrorism and adhere to the principles of peaceful coexistence. Otherwise, if provocations against Pakistan continue, they will receive a decisive response and will have to pay a heavy price.
