Rawalpindi: all markets and commercial areas have been ordered to remain closed for three days due to the arrival of international guests and security concerns.
The closure will be effective on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, during which all business activities will remain suspended.
The decision has been taken in line with government directives and recommendations from security agencies to ensure law and order and prevent any potential threats during high-profile diplomatic movements in the region.
According to a statement issued by the Central Traders Association Raja Bazaar, President Malik Shahid Ghafor Pracha, the move has been implemented under the directions of the district administration and senior security officials.
It further stated that SP Rawal Town and Assistant Commissioner City Ms. Iman Zafar, along with other relevant officials have strictly executed the govt directives to ensure the safety of the foreign delegations in Islamabad and the need to maintain tight security arrangements.
Traders have been advised to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and avoid any violation of the orders, as strict legal action may be taken against those who do not comply with the instructions.
Govt officials also urge general public to cooperate in this regard in the wider national interest as pakistan is hosting the ever high level negotiations in Islamabad.
Public holiday in Rawalpindi:
Meanwhile the district administration Rawalpindi has announced public holiday in the districts.However,all hospitals and emergency dealing departments will be operational as usual.
