The Sindh government announced an extension in the deadline for citizens to get new number plates carrying the Ajrak design till December 31.
Earlier, the provincial government fixed October 31 as the last date to obtain Ajrak-themed number plates.
According to the notification issued by Sindh’s Excise Department, “the government of Sindh is pleased to extend the timeline for replacement of existing number plates with new security-featured number plates to December 31, 2025, instead of October 31, 2025.”
The extension in the last date will be applied to all types of vehicles.
The Excise Department is struggling with pending applications for new number plates, and at the same time, more citizens are applying for ajrak-themed number plates. However, due to slow process and insufficient facilities, slow number plates delivery is now frequent , the private media outlet reported.
The fee for a new number plate is Rs 1,850 for a bike and Rs 2,450 for car.
