US group claims India’s Tata involved in Israeli atrocities in Gaza

NEW YORK: A US-based organization Salaam, has alleged that India’s largest conglomerate, Tata Group, is complicit in Israeli atrocities in Gaza. The group claims that Tata is supplying weapons, machinery, and digital systems contributing to what it calls a genocide against the Palestinian people.

Salaam, a South Asian political organization headquartered in New York, stated in its report that various Tata subsidiaries including Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), Tata Motors, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have been providing military equipment, armored vehicles, and digital infrastructure to Israel. According to the report, these are being used in operations targeting Palestinians.

The document further argues that Tata’s projects are not merely commercial ventures but an active component of Israel’s occupation and oppression system, contributing to severe human rights violations in Gaza.

According to the details shared, TASL has established close ties with Israeli defense firms and is jointly involved in manufacturing missile systems, fighter jet components, and surveillance equipment. The company is also participating in projects such as the F-21 fighter jets and the Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) systems, which are reportedly used in Israeli military operations.

The report adds that Tata Motors provides the Israeli army with vehicle chassis for ground operations, while TCS offers digital solutions for Israel’s government and banking systems, assisting in the establishment of settlements in occupied territories.

Salaam’s findings conclude that Tata’s initiatives form part of Israel’s broader network of occupation, surveillance, and oppression—strengthening state-sponsored violence against Palestinians.

The report also examines the India-Israel relationship, describing it as more than just a defense partnership. It calls the alliance a deep ideological and political bond developed over the past 50 years.

According to Salaam, India’s capitalist elite is seeking new markets, while the Indian state aspires to regional dominance. These ambitions, the report suggests, align ideologically with Zionism and Hindu nationalism (Hindutva).

The document concludes that this relationship has evolved into a corporate, political, and military alliance designed to advance both countries’ expansionist and aggressive agendas.
