Amid grave conflict involving Iran and Israel, strategic attention has increasingly shifted toward what experts describe as a deepening Israel–India nexus shaping regional dynamics.
These claims were further substantitated by intelligence reports indicating that four containers of military equipment had landed at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan from India. According to intelligence sources, the cargo reportedly included high-tech surveillance systems, drones, quadcopters, and advanced electronic spying equipment. There is growing reason to believe that the Afghan Taliban regime, acting under the direction of its Indian and Israeli patrons, is allowing Afghan territory to be used as a forward operational base against Iran, and potentially Pakistan as well
Analysts argue that such developments would suggest expanding coordination between regional actors aligned with Israel.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Israel has further fueled debate. During the trip, he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and signed agreements expanding defense and intelligence cooperation. Observers note that India–Israel ties have strengthened significantly over the past decade, particularly in defense technology, surveillance systems, and intelligence sharing.
The timing of the visit — shortly before Israel strikes on Iran — has drawn scrutiny from regional commentators. Some analysts describe the growing alignment as a strategic partnership aimed at countering Iran and Pakistan, using Afghanistan as a major strategic base.
In South Asia, concerns are mounting that Afghanistan could become a geopolitical pressure point. Analysts suggest that if Afghan territory were to be used for intelligence facilitation, it would represent a major strategic shift with direct implications for Iran and Pakistan.
For Pakistan, positioned geographically between Iran, Afghanistan, and India, the evolving Israel–India partnership is viewed by some experts as part of a broader strategic realignment in the region. Islamabad has faced increased tensions along both eastern and western borders in recent months, heightening anxieties about regional encirclement.
