Authorities ask for evacuation in Swat due to flood risk

UK aid Pakistan monsoon

WEBDESK: Heavy monsoon rains have caused rivers and streams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to swell, creating a flood like situation in several areas.

In Mingora city, Tehsil Charbagh, Khwazakhela, Madian, Kabal, Barikot, Mingora Khwar, and Hazara Khwar, water levels have risen sharply. Streets in Mingora and nearby areas are flooded, and water has entered homes in different localities, forcing many residents to leave their houses.

The district administration has warned that the flow of the Swat River could increase further. Tourists and locals have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during the rains.
