The closure of two gas fields has raised concerns over a potential gas shortage in the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) system.
According to Sui Southern sources, consumers may face several hours of reduced gas supply today. The impact is expected to be most significant between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
The shortage comes amid an increasing gas crisis across the country, with Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experiencing lower gas pressure.
A Sui Southern spokesperson stated that the company is actively working to manage and minimize the impact of the gas shortage.
These faults can include equipment malfunctions, pipeline leaks, pressure drops, or planned shutdowns for safety checks.
Such disruptions often result in temporary gas shortages in supply networks, particularly affecting industrial zones and urban households.
SSGC and other companies usually try to balance the supply from alternate fields, but sudden closures can still cause noticeable reductions in gas availability.
