The Sindh government has introduced the Sindh Job Portal (SJP), making it the first province in Pakistan to launch a digital platform for applying to government jobs.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah formally launched the initiative. The SJP was collaboratively built by the Science and Information Technology Department and IBA University Sukkur.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, CM Sindh said the initiative resonates with Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s objective of job opportunities for all, recalling her slogan: “Benazir Aaie Hae – Rozgar Laie Hae”.
Murad Ali Shah explained that 326,000 candidates have already cleared the selection tests, and that the Sindh government will organise tests on a monthly basis. “Results will be available immediately after the test,” he further said.
As per CM Sindh, an integrated database of eligible candidates will be created after uploading their educational documents, CNIC, and domicile to the IBA-run portal. “After passing the test, candidates can directly apply for government positions,” he added.
CM Sindh said while mentioning the system’s network connection that, “the portal bridges the Sindh government with the youth seeking jobs. We have linked both together through this platform.”
Each department will now upload its vacancy details on the portal, ensuring timely updates as new posts open. “For example, if the Education Department needs 100 junior clerks across Sindh, the Finance Department will instantly check funding availability,” Shah explained.
Every provincial department will now update its job details on the portal. For example, if the Education Department needs 100 junior clerks across Sindh, the Finance Department will instantly check funding availability,” Murad Ali Shah mentioned.
He stated that in the past, vacancies got announced in the province before getting financial approval. “Now, everything will be managed online. The Finance Department will approve the positions first, and then all job details will be published,” he concluded.
