JEDDAH: The sudden suspension of Serene Air has left thousands of Umrah pilgrims stranded in Saudi Arabia with no arrangements made for their return over the past ten days.
According to details, Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) recently imposed an unexpected ban on Serene Air, declaring all seven of its aircraft unfit for flight. The CAA’s notification stated that the airline failed to maintain adequate repair and maintenance standards for its fleet.
As a result, numerous Pakistani Umrah pilgrims in Saudi Arabia are now facing severe difficulties, with no government mechanism in place to bring them back home. The stranded passengers have appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir to take immediate steps to facilitate their safe return.
